H-Net Holiday Hours

Friends of H-Net,

H-Net's Home Offices will be closed for the holidays starting on Friday December 24 though Monday January 3rd. The H-Net Job Guide will continue to post positions over the break, but expect delays in service from H-Net's Help Desk and with H-Announce. All incoming messages will be followed up on the first week of January as will pending announcments posted to H-Announce.

Thank You!

Friends of H-Net,

Today we wrap up our fall fundraising campaign, and thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised nearly $27,000! By every measure this campaign was a success. We here at the Home Office want to sincerely thank you for supporting H-Net’s mission and day-to-day operations. The last two years have been challenging, to say the least, but together we not only survived, but we also found ways to thrive.

Moderation is a Virtue

“Moderation is a virtue.” Most of us probably heard that one over and over since childhood, and now our deeply polarized and harsh cultural climate demonstrates the truth in that little nugget of wisdom. From the shoutfests on cable news to the committee rooms of Congress where Big Tech faces the consequences of its quest for instant gratification at any cost, “moderation” has re-entered the public dialog as some kind of lost virtue.

Celebrating H-Net's Inclusiveness - Providing Opportunities for Graduate Students

Dear H-Net Community,

Thank you for your generous support for our fall fundraising drive. We're already past 70% of our goal!

In 2010, I started working at H-Net while still a graduate student myself. It was a pivotal moment for my professional development. For that reason, I want to call special attention to H-Net's inclusiveness and our role in providing opportunities to graduate students to engage with and shape their fields of study.

Why should I support H-Net with my donations?

During this busy time of year it seems as if things to do multiply by the minute. There’s always something to do, a place to be, a request to consider. I hope you will take a moment and give this request serious consideration. Please consider supporting H-Net with a one-time or recurring donation during our annual fundraising drive.

Your Support is Vital to H-Net's Mission

Dear H-Net Community,

Thanks to your generous support we’ve reached 20% of our fall fundraising goal in just two days! We are delighted to see that the services H-Net provides continue to prove essential to your work as academics in the humanities and social sciences.
